Focuses on three lesser-known grape varieties. Syrah makes one of the world's greatest red wines, from refined Rhones to the rich, ripe, long-lasting relation in the hot Barossa and Hunter Valleys of Australia. The Grenache variety is responsible for eight percent of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, as well as other delicious, unpretentious reds, roses, and fortified wines of Europe. Mourvedre is fast becoming a popular grape variety especially since its discovery by the Rhone Rangers of California. Hardbound, 228 pp. 1992
